Putting Soul in the City - towards a manifesto
Putting Soul in the City by Graham Henderson
This essay 'Soul in the City' by Graham Henderson, emerged from the Farrell review of Architecture and the Built Environment and was informed by the Arts and Place Working Group and subsequently influenced the drafting of the Manifesto for Arts In Place. The essay is a call to radical action. It is a call to create William Blake’s future city of the arts in the digital age, and to use the arts and culture not only to beautify the public realm but also to express our values, proved social identity and cohesion, and to provide new opportunities for science and enterprise.
